Subhaashita Sutras - 18

यथा बीजं विना क्षेत्रमुप्तं भवति निष्फलम् ।

तथा पुरुषकारेण विना दैवं न सिध्यति ॥

नित्यनीति: - 86

Just as mere ploughing of the fields without sowing does not bear fruit, mere faith will not yield anything.
