यो ध्रुवाणि परित्यज्य ह्यध्रुवं परिसेवते।
ध्रुवाणि तस्य नश्चयन्ति चाध्रुवं नष्टमेव हि ।।
Yo Dhruvaani Parityajjya Hyadhruvam Parisevate |
Dhruvaani Tassya Nashyanti Chaadhruvam Nashtamev Hi ||
He who forgoes the certain for the uncertain has his certain also destroyed. The uncertain even otherwise would be destroyed on its own
The aphorism conveys, the same meaning as conveyed by the famous English proverb: ‘One in hand is better than two in the bush’.
